Facebook Stories: What's your story?
Facebook Stories are said to be the future of social media marketing. In 2018 Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “Stories is a big part of the future of video sharing, which is why we’re all in on it across our family.” Data suggests that more than one billion accounts now use stories globally on Facebook owned accounts. What exactly are Facebook Stories and how can they help your business become more visible on the web?
Launched in 2017 Facebook Stories are another form of News feed but rely on visual rather than written information. Stories are short and temporary and disappear after 24 hours. Fun filters, such as masks, frames and interactive filter, and geolocation tags can be added to photos to make them more unique and engaging to your audience. Stories don't appear in your News feed or Timeline by default and will only show up there if you choose that option.
What is so good about Facebook Stories? First and foremost once posted they appear on top of the regular News Feed of your followers ensuring that they don't miss it. The stories section even follows your readers as they scroll through their news on a desktop computer. Second, Stories are rising in popularity and provide businesses a way to connect with their audience. Third, you can see who is reading your stories so you can measure their impact and ROI.
